Welcome to EDB

The Economic Development Board (EDB) was established in 2002  and is a key advisory body to the Government on economic development issues in  South Australia.

EDB Purpose Statement

The purpose of the Economic Development Board is to maximise the value of emerging economic opportunities for South Australia, so that South Australia is recognised as the most competitive place in Australia in which to invest and grow a business.

It will advocate that the benefits of our prosperity are shared across current and future generations of all South Australians in a way that sustains and enhances our State’s unique environment and liveability.

Reducing Red Tape

LED BY THE COMPETITIVENESS COUNCIL, THE PROGRAM TO CUT RED TAPE IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA IS HAVING A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON BUSINESS COSTS.

Bureaucratic red tape is rapidly disappearing in South Australia in an ongoing program to ease the burden of government rules and regulations. The cost savings to business and the community are significant. A new handbook aims to prevent a build-up of red tape in the future.
